ABOUT

Kinsey Johnson, PMHNP-BC

Taking that step toward medication can be difficult.

Life is hard; it’s stressful, and often we only go through the motions trying to make it through the day.

We keep thinking our depression, anxiety, and anger will disappear and stop affecting all aspects of our lives, like our home life, work, and relationships.

Well, sometimes we all need a little extra help.

Therapy is excellent, and I believe everyone needs treatment at some point (maybe even a long period of their life). But there are times that we feel our depression, anxiety, anger, and traumas have taken over.

We start running on emotion, putting one foot in front of the other, trying to make it through the day, week, month, or even year. Operating on emotions works for a while, but it’s exhausting!

Life doesn’t have to be exhausting.

There’s extra help, and I’m here and ready to take this journey with you.

Taking the correct medication in the right amount at the right time can be a game changer. Sometimes we need medicine at the moment (not forever) to get us moving toward success.

You should take a minimal amount of medication for the minimal time required.

We will work toward your goal together.

There is no “one size fits all” with medication.

I believe in a holistic and individualized approach to medication management where we consider and discuss all factors in your life that may affect your care.

My experience, knowledge, and, most notably, meeting you where you are in the moment will help you ultimately reach your wellness goal.

I am empathetic and easygoing and always want you to feel relaxed and comfortable with me.

About Me

Helping others is my passion.

I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Mississippi and my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

I worked as a hospital nurse for several years, primarily in step-down ICU and ambulatory surgery. I am licensed as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by ANCC. I am approved to treat across the lifespan and have experience treating children and adults in outpatient psychiatry.

Life is full of contentment.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends in my free time.

If the weather is nice, I love being outside, and if it’s not, you’ll probably find me curled up on the couch with my English bulldog, Buster. I love to travel and have quite a long list of places I’d love to visit.
